Daily Art Challenge Week Three Update
I’m writing this a week late! Just as I should be finishing and posting week four’s post, so I’ll be uploading two blog posts today. It’s super hard to keep up with client work and artwork and stay on top of social media and posting on here etc. Luckily; I’m not putting too much pressure on keeping this blog super regular. I prioritise YouTube and Instagram, but I wanted to have this process documented somewhere I own, not on a platform someone else controls. I already can’t remember what I thought and felt about my art for this week, so I will be referring to my Instagram posts to remind me. How am I so forgetful already? I’m only 30!
Day 13 - 24/07/22
This is my second piece of today. Created simply because there were some of these colours left over on my palette, and I hate waste. A very simple avocado 🥑 painted in gouache, but it was a test of my hand steadiness trying to get that outline painted!
Day 14 - 25/07/22
A quick little POSCA pen piece in my sketchbook today. I think my sketchbook is smoother than the postcards, so the POSCA went down really well, there was much less pilling on the paper. As much as I love using the Ohuhu markers and playing around with blending the colours together, I’m yet to find a style with them that suits me and that I’m happy with.
Day 15 - 27/07/22
A few days ago I created a simple floral pattern. Today I turned it into an A4 piece and I think it’s pretty cute 🥰 I love how easy it is to create with posca pens and the results are great!
Day 16 - 28/07/22
Not bad for a first go with oil pastels. I’m so pleased with how this has turned out. Creating this piece has really made me start to feel like an artist 👩🎨 What a messy medium, though, 😂 bits of oil pastel are everywhere!
This piece is inspired by an Unsplash photo of some mountains in Colorado. I recently came across a photographer who shoots in Colorado, and the views are stunning 😍
Day 17 - 29/07/22
Day 17 and a quick posca drawing today. I’m slightly concerned some of my favourite colours are starting to run out! 😬 hopefully it’s just because it’s been a bit hot today!
Day 18 - 30/07/22
Day 18 is a simple pen drawing. I had this idea in the shower this morning and I had to give it a go. This is my first attempt at people too. I didn’t add too much detail to this one but drawing people is something I would like work on.
